Thats my question?? There the same motor 3.0v6 so can i take the pistons out of a 300 and put them in a maxima and run boost??? The bore should be the same and i would use 300 rods too right??

Actually I think the bore and stroke are different from the VG series to the VQ.

I'm assuming your talking about using the pistons from the Twin Turbo 300zx motor and not the N/A motor.

Darren - The bore x stroke on the VQ ( maxima ) is 3.66 x 2.89 inches and the bore x stroke on the VG ( 300zx ) is 3.4 x 3.3 inches. So they would not fit, and you could defiently not use the same rods. Although both are 3.0-liter 24-valve DOHC 60-degree v6's, the bore and stroke are both off.

Holy triple post chismoe

JE, Arias, and other companies will custom bore pistons to your requested measurements. it will cost money, but unless a company already makes low compression vq series pistons, this is the only way to go. (other than being ghetto and stacking head gaskets haha)
