Default RB25 fuel pump help?????

Dont care if its wrong section or if this has been answered before... but i was about to buy a walbro 255 fuel pump that is for an SR20 or basically a 240.. But i need to make sure it is for an RB.. I dont know too much about them but i was told buy the seller that i need an authentic walbro 255 pump.. I was just checking on this because im not sure. I thought a walbro 255 is a walbro 255 and it works for KA, Rb, or SR. So is it an authentic walbro 255 or just a regular 255? Anyone who helps it is much appreciated. Thanks!

Walbro fuel pumps are garbage. I've been through 3 of them and I always used the oem sock and re-filled the car at 1/4 tank. I'm now running a supra tt denso fuel pump and I haven't looked back since.

wallys are a crap shoot, some are great for years, other great for minutes...

stick to OEM style

TT supra
R32 GTR
300ZX? (dunno about this one guys)
etc etc etc

i've had good luck with wallys in my cars, but i put one in a SR swapped S14 for a buddy, and about 3 days later, it crapped out. i myself am currently running a Tomei fuel pump, she's a little noisy, but hasn't failed me yet.

for clarity - 255 is 255 as long as you are talking about the same kind/brand of pump.

the TT 300zx pump is a 255lhp pump, but it flows 255lph at like 35ish psi where as the walboro doesn't get to 255 lph until 55 psi.

exactly. I've had good luck with them. I've installed others that were crap within the day. They are cheap because they don't spend money on quality control.

If money is the concern, then it is worth the crap shoot for the walboro. If it is good, then you have enough fuel for cheap. If it isn't, then you gotta deal with the whole exchange bullshit.

if you're wanting the "best" option, then yeah, OEM pumps are the way to go.

In the 300 world, the NA pump is good for up to 400 hp. people have squeezed 500 hp out of a walboro. and the TT pump can handle 700 whp like Katt Willims, all day, every day, no problem.
A lot of people will replace their GTR pumps with 300zx TT pumps because they don't have the skyline tax stuck on there.

Personally, I don't know how the 300zx TT pump compares to the supra pump. From what I've found, it just boils down to what you can get the better deal on. They both seem to flow about the same, and they both seem to last for ever.
