Default Nissan Quest alternator on sr20det. (Bracket.)

Has anybody here installed the Nissan Quest alternator without buying the custom bracket I've seen for sale on Zilvia? Thought I'd ask before spending $50.00 for the "custom" bracket.
Thanks.....

Not on an sr. If it were a ka it's just a matter of drilling out the mounting point on the bottom of the alternator, switching pulleys, and notching the adjuster. Why don't you take a look at the bracket that codyace sells and see exactly what is modified to make it fit.

He sells a custom made bracket. I have a KA alternator on my car now, but need to go with the 125 amp Quest alternator. Here is what the bracket he sells looks like:

So mount up the quest alternator and measure the distance from the top of the alternator the the bracket and make one... lol

I'm pretty sure McMaster Carr sells everything you need to do this.

I tried to make one out of an old megan adjustable tie rod when I seen the pic of his "kit". Didnt work because I need a reverse threaded hime joint. All it is is a heavy duty turnbuckle.
