as the topic says, what motors will fit in a 95 pickup w/o modifications to the engine bay?

 

since it seems like you are looking for more power you can use the stock kA if you wish and piece together a turbo kit or buy a kit for a 240 but it would require different piping and the kits are expensive.

the sr20det motor does fit, there are of course wiring and minor modifications for making the a/c work and etc but it has been done.

i know ralph at eurostreet has a page on putting sr motor into a hardbody truck i do not have the link handy though. try www.eurostreetgraphics.com and see if there is a side link to it.

 

didn't see anything on that site. any of the other motors fit? ca, vg, rb?

 

likely ca and rb would with minor stuff, vg would probalby fit as well since i think the truck used a v6 but i dont know if it was a VG series v6 or something else.

 

i had a vg30 in my 95 ext cab. it was basically identical to the old 80's vg block and stuff.

 

the trucks did come with v6s in those years.

 

ever seen a nissan p/u with 'XE V6' or 'SE V6' on the side?
the last year vg30 was in 95, then then went to only the ka until re-releasing (i think) the 3.2 litre block. my truck was a 95 xtra cab, v6 (iron block, alum heads), with like a 3.7 or something rear end, the same 5spd as all the other nissans, and it weighed 30 lbs less than my 87 300zx.

 

the xe has manual windows and locks, se has power schitt. i only had pwr windows and cruise. but they have these big ghey swooshes on them, i peeled mine off, it actually wasn't a bad truck. had some decent power, all black with stock chrome wheels bumpers and mirrors, and of course we ripped off the exhaust in favor of a straight pipe, and peeled letters of the tail gate so it just said 'SS'
the only problems were the 100 mph top speed, and the 3 foot long truck shifter.
i would love to get another one, very tossable... maybe an sr20det swap, or a 84-89 vg30det
