I bought a speed sensor from a guy who says its a s13 speed sensor. Tried putting it in my tranny ( s13 tranny ) this morning and it doesn't fit, its alittle to big. So I went to my friends house who has a s13 tranny as well that was laying around. I pulled his speed sensor directly from his tranny and tried putting the one I bought in.....which doesn't fit his. So i took his speed sensor and put into mine...and...perfect direct fit. but anyways Im just trying to identify the speed sensor he sold me.

Here: oh and if it was a manual s13 speed senser wouldn't the gear at the top be red instead of a pinkish color??

 

looks like an automatic one to me... could be wrong, been a while since I messed with one, but i'm pretty sure it is a s13 auto

 

does the autos fit a manual tranny?? I mean it should right? But this one doesn't, like it doesn't even go in.

 

Auto and manual speed sensors are not interchangeable. Unless you want to grind it down to fit... which just seems kinda sketchy.

^^yeah. I think its a auto senser, But i don't understand why the top is pink. I was told that if its a auto that the top is tan.

 

looks like a manual one to me, I thought that auto ones looked different.

As far as color, gear oil will fuck all kinds of colors up.

 

idk wtf it is but it doesn't fit any s13 tranny i can tell you that. its to big. Are single cam trannys different from dohc trannys? as far as speed sensers

 

No sohc and dohc ones are the same.

 

yeah, just looked in my box-o-random parts and I have one, looks just like yours, labeled s13 auto. so there ya go. its auto.
as for the color. couldn't tell you. I know mine is the same color as yours. maybe a touch more red to it, but same basic color.
