what is a check connector ?

The "check connector" is the plug under the driver's side dash where the Nissan CONSULT connects to. It usually consists of 4 or 5 wires labeled something like "rx data, cx data, tx data" etc...The dealer uses this connector to diagnose fault codes and to check ignition timing.

is it needed ?.....on a sr20 swap .....under the dash -i know what 6 of the wires are for but the other 6 ????????? i dont know?i'm thinkin the wires go to the check conect.....are the sr and ka the same color wires.....help !!!!!!!!

It was very fast when it was running though. I never dynoed it or ran it at the track, so I don't have any solid numbers. I will be dynoing this time around, however.
