duy sold his car but it was a built ka with various big turboes including t70 or t72 i think. best of 10.7 @ god knows what insane mph. he had a 75 shot i think of nitrous oxide as well.

*250whp on SR? takes some bolt ons. pieced together KA turbo kit, can be done for less than $3500 (SR 2300 for redtop plus another 2000 to get to 250whp maybe?) and ka can be done just as easily.

choose the route you want, not because i preach about ka or sr or whatever.

once i get my stuff running, ill dyno and post numbers and see how much money i wasted.

hey bro you may think its cheaper to get 250 horses with the sr but think of this. what happens when you blow up your sr or something bad happens to it that forces you to buy a totally new sr? your out 2k. if you blow your ka you can just goto the junkyard or somewhere and grab one for 500ish. transfer your turbo or whatever your doing and your set till u can build it up again. lets just say you spend 2500 for the sr motor. lets also say you spent 500 dollars for a ka motor. youd have 2000 dollars left if you got a ka to build it up and run higher boosts then a sr. food for thought =)

about power output overkill? hell man id be happy to run 17s with a car of my own. hopefully ill get to talk to you guys on this bored and ill get to meet you somehow before i get a car...which would be awhile. the car im probably gonna get is my grandmothers "93 hyundai" i laugh at the idea of that also but i like being different. i wouldnt mind getting a 240sx but there aint that many places i know of to pull some drifts except for parking lots and autocross. its fun to keep it safe but its also fun to go crazy.

that's the point. Nothing bad happens to a 250whp sr. nothing. they take almost 400 whp before getting weary of stock internals and what not.. AND if somethig goes wrong, you can use an assortement of Se-r parts and gti-r pistons to be running again in less than a week.

sr20 bare motors can be had for 600-800 shipped easily anyways, so wherever youre getting your prices from is bending you over.

oh god dont start with drifting
there are TONS of places to safely go drifting. its only $300 to set up a full blown drift day. it's just like autocross, just set the cones differently. dont' that "theres nowhere to drift" excuse. you won't.

probably things wont happen but thats an if it does. i wasnt talking about sr20 bare motors and never thought of that idea so im not bending over for the prices. the two imports i were looking at only listed full dets, once again i never thought of bare motors. i will start as much as i please about those drifts. unless those "safe places" are events then i know and am not talking about them. the point wasnt there werent enough autocrosses or gymhanas around. i know about them and hope to pay for one eventually. what are these "safe places"? i was talking about on the street and comparing our landscape to that of california/northern states with hills and the such.

i have drifted there at least 10 times. you get about 3or 4 good passes in before you shoot off 4th street and shoot onto 175 north
