Default sr help, spun bearing?

ok so i picked up a sr motor, before i threw it in i cleaned it up and looked over it alil. when i took the valve cover off i found a rocker arm off and the chims fell..not far just right next to spring. I put them back on and cranked it alil to make sure it seemed good. I got it in today and after a while got it started. First it seemed ok but then i started hearing a tick, and it seemed to get louder. now its pretty obvous not sure if its a spun bearing...if so whats the easiest route to take if it is, i have hear that you can fix it without removing the motor but idk

Yeah, it's called the wrong way.

Rodknock doesn't sound like lifter tick. Post a video of the sound that the car is making.

its fucked...
tear it out. pull the engine apart.
you'll need a new crank, so just get one made. I know a guy that will form one out of magnesium and fully counter weight it with titanium. that'll make it stupid strong and it will only weight like 6 pounds.
bore the block 40 over.
I know another guy that can form custom rods, but you have to bring him forged rods cuz the process he uses to make his molds will melt the stock stuff. It is worth it cuz each rod will weigh less than a pound and be stupid strong.
Get your hands on some old Gran Vitara pistons. They are forged some some weird reason, and they will drop right in.
Rebuild the head while you have it apart.
My buddy did an 8 angle valve job when he ported his head out. he's running 2 mm oversized valves. This is stupid crazy. I'll get him to give ya the hook up. Should only cost like 200 bucks max.
when you bolt it all back together, use 2 head baskets so it seals better. that way you can run 50 psi all day
my buddy that does the head work is a guru with a SAFC, he'll tune it all up for ya
should end up making like 1,100 whp with a redline of 14,000. it'll be sweet

j/k

post up the clip of what the engine sounds like.
if you took the valve cover off and found a rocker arm off, then that could be your problem. a spun bearing is gonna sound more like a metal spoon banging in a big metal pot more so than a tick.

I would look to the head.
A spun bearing would sound more like Clack clack clack

you can also try to cut spark to one cylinder at a time. if it is a spun bearing, it will stop or at least get much quieter, when you kill the spark on that cylinder.

but yeah, that sounds more head/valve/lifter related.

Not having an exhaust on your car is making it sound like a helicopter. Is it consistent throughout the rshared_pm range?

+1 and make sure your timing chain tensioners aren't gunked up and stuck.
