Default 300zx questions

i picked up one last monday, so far i done replaced afew rotted out fuel lines, done an oil change, tranny flush with a new filter, just ordered a new timing belt and water pump, just waiting for it to come in, i ran seafoam in the gas tank and in the oil right b4 the oil change, i cleaned out the throttles, am i missing anything else?

the car has 134k on the body, motor supposedly has 90k

my other main question is, has anyone taken off the clutch fan and put an electric in? any better gas mileage or hp improvement?

thanks.

the clutch fan is massive, so yes, you would probably free up a little HP, but at the same time, to replace that fan with an electric one that moves the same amount of air, you're electric draw would put a ton of stress on the alternator taking up all of that HP you just freed up. you only have a 70 amp alternator. get your hands on an older quest alternator. they are 110 amps and shouldn't give you any problems, well, very many problems getting bolted up. pretty sure you can google a write up for it...

might also want to get new spark plugs.

coolant flush

track down rotting vacuum lines before they give you problems.

google how to do the coolant bypass and the EGR elimination and go a head and do that while you're working on the car. it will make things easier down the road should you have problems. That will also give you a chance to really get in there and clean the engine up since you'll have the manifold off. makes it easier to spot oil leaks and such.

use mystery oil in the oil for a little bit before you change the oil. people say not to drive on it. but if you're NA, it shouldn't be a problem, not like it is going through a hot ass turbo. the mystery oil seems to do a little bit better job than the sea foam. the sea foam seems to have a lower flash point and therefore creates more carbon then it cleans when it is in the oil. I say seems like because I have honestly never looked it up. Personal experience and preferred, mystery oil in the oil. sea foam in the intake, and lucas fuel system cleaner in the fuel tank (buy the bigger bottle and use a lot more than you think you should)

check the oil in your Diff. It should have been changed, but probably wasn't. This is a tough call because some people will tell you that changing it now will help it. Other people will tell you that if it is bad enough, the gunk is what is keeping it together. So flip a coin and go with your gut. I've changed the gear lube in the 240sx's and 300zx's I've owned/worked on and never had a problem, but you know how that goes.

then do this...
TwinTurbo.NET: Nissan 300ZX forum - The simplest mod so far... switched power injector rewire.
so that way your injectors only have power when the key is on. it will help them last longer. It will buy you some time to save up to buy new injectors, which you are going to need. Might as well plan for it now.

Then get better head lights. Don't skimp out on an HID kit. The stock headlights pretty much suck.

get lo-jack installed. It is easy to steal Z's and even the very best alarm isn't going to stop a car thief. If they want your shit, they will get it. period. the only thing you can do is to try to get it back as quickly as possible. lo jack works.
get an alarm with a pager on it so you know what is going on with your car while you are inside and can't see it.

don't get a gay body kit.
don't get wheels that are too big them show horn them in anyway
don't get lambo doors
don't get a stupid exhaust.

oh, and fix your hatch leaks and maybe freshen up your t-top seals so they don't start to leak.
and consider breaking your windshield and replacing it with a new piece of glass. It is all scratched up anyway.
