a/c help needed
97 ka24de
my a/c hasnt been working for almost 2 weeks now.
i finally got around to getting through vacation and a chance to look at it.
the compressor does not kick on when the a/c button is depressed.
the clutch on the compressor doesnt move a bit.
the idle still jumps then falls, due to the 2nd fan activating.
freon level should be fine for now.
i had my dash apart yesterday and there were no loose wires or frays.
jay ur a mechanic do u know anything about a/c wiring (since u are wiring up some of that right now!)???
i checked the microswitch on the compressor but my father and i really dont know much about a/c systems other than the mechanical setup and how it works. the wiring is unknown.
does anyone think they could look at it or check it out for me. no rush really but sometime soon. i checked the underdash blower motor 15a fuses and the 7.5a a/c fuse theyre ok.
there is a relay in the box under the hood that says a/c comp. this very well might be a cause, but i am unsure how to test a relay to make sure it is good or not, and im damn well not buying a $40 relay from nissan until i know that is the problem.
thanx in advance just let me know if u think u could look or fix it for me. ill pay in beer money or dinner but no sexual favors (unless ur a girl) thanks

Hey Dan,
Your best bet will be to look at the wiring diagram for the S14 A/C system, which I have a copy of. You need to isolate the problem in a step-by-step manner. For example, connect a source of 12V directly to the compressor and see if it comes on and if the air in the cabin is cold. If this works, then you know that you have a problem with the electronics that control the A/C compressor.
Do both fans come on when you turn on the A/C? If not, then you could have a shorted out fan motor, which will blow the fuse for the A/C compressor.
Also, if there is a freon leak, the pressure in the system will be low. This is detected by the triple pressure switch and will this not allow the compressor to turn on.
If you need help diagnosing it, let me know and I will do what I can. I promise that I would not want any sexual favors...money is just fine for me
By the way, I am drunk as fuck
Peace out yo,

cool bro i would have made it to the shop last night but we had a phone incident and then garrett didnt have my #
ill try to get over to you sometime soon cuz i figured u would be able to help.
the fan cuts on. i dunno the freon levels, i figure it was a microswitch or a relay but htere could be more.
