There is a car w/ a red top SR20det motor in it for sale for a damn good price.....the qualm my mom has with the car (I'm only 15) is this "No one will know how to repair the engine".....can any of you tell me if the SR20de engine and this are close relatives or can you tell me if this is such a common swap that most know how to work on it? any info. would be greatly appreciated

An engine is an engine. Wether it be F/I or NA or JDM they operate nearly the same. Take good care of it and hopefully it won't need repairs, just maintenance. All cars need maintenance and in the meantime until you get the car you could start reading up and learning how to perform the easier jobs on your own.

dude bring it up to secret services. i for one dont' work there but i am there once ina while and the employee there Scott knows a damn decent amount when it comes to the sr20det. he's also making the most power in the tampa bay area out of an sr20det.

i know nissan efi pretty f'ing dang well, and between me martin and scott, there's nothing we can't do to fix that motor. i know the transmissions very well, scott knows the motor and martin knows the electrics.

i'd be glad to look the car over for you to make sure it's healthy.
