shift knob recommendations?
so, i've got a slight dilema... my nismo shift knob is all worn and tarnished, and being an interior, whore, i'm going to be replacing it...
my first choice was the Tomei Duracon, but that wont work as they only come in 10 x 1.25, and i need 12 x1.25...
options are pretty limited i guess...
i don't like the GReddy counterweight, the shape is retarded, i have the GReddy ultra light in my old black car, that was nice, but i don't think i'd want a knob that small in the GTR... so it looks like GReddy is out of the equasion...
then i looked at the HKS units, and i don't like the shape at all, nor the offset 1-5/R decal thing...
i saw an ARC knob, but goddamn, $150+ for a shift knob? ugh...
my self set budget is around $100 give or take a bit for whatever reason...
anyone got any other cool ideas? no trashy shit, just looking for something clean and simple... worst comes to worse, I'll prob get the black billet Nismo unit, and that's the kinda shape/look I'm going for...
kinda eyeballing the Nismo leather wrapped one....

Don't really see the point on this, if you like the Tomei Duracon buy it and drill/tap it to the thread you need. A M12x1.25 tap uses a 10.75 MM drill or use 27/64" bit because they are easy to find.
i'm not asking what to put on my car, i'm asking if anyone has any other ideas, maybe there's a style that i missed, a brand i didn't think about... i want to review all my options before i settle on one... same thing when i asked about wheels... i wasn't asking WHAT wheels to put on my car, just ideas i may have overlooked... i would have NEVER thought about Work XD9's if clawhammer hadn't mentioned them... same thing I'm doing here...
as for retapping, i didn't even think about that...
Hold up there. I'm 99% sure that you're 10x1.25 threaded. Only the 6-speed cars got 12x1.25. That is, R34 GT-R, Z33, Z34, Spec-V, S15 Spec-R, etc.
In that case, Z32 shifter. Heavy, leather, black.

Not hard either. I have a 12x1.25 DSG Delrin shift knob (discontinued!) that I stuck a Helicoil insert into to make it 10x1.25. The Helicoil tap for that size was already 12x1.25, so I just had to thread it in and go. Not that any of that is relevant here; just bragging
