Ok TR help me out.. Yesterday i drove to my GF house and the car ran fine.. Well when it was time to leave i crank the car up and i smelled something burning then smoke was coming from the fuse box under the steering column, so i killed it right away and checked it out.. Turns out the Meter(10A) fuse had a black wire joining it where it plugs in and the side of the fuse was partially melted.. (I have No idea what this wire goes too) I checked the fuse and its fine! (wierd) so i just cut the end of the wire so it wouldnt short but i noticed when i started going my speedo, rpm's, blinkers, temp, seat belts and turn sigs dont function....today i went through all my fuses and everything is good; tail lights head lights dome light, even my hazards work.. I even put tht black wire back where it was and nothing.. Im STUMPED!!

Iv owned this car for over a year and have never had anything like this happen.. it seems like the owner before me hooked something up ghetto but like i said this prob came out of the blue!! grrr lol soo if you have and suggestions LMK!!!

 

check the plug behind your glove box(its white or brown, depneding on sohc or dohc) its connected to the ecu and im pretty sure that controls majority of your shit thats out.

lmao^^ im thinkin it could be a main relay but which one is the ??? The iceing on the cake is my fuel gage doesnt work either.. i got gas just before this prob happend and its been on "F" waayyy tooo long grrrrr!

i looked under there today, maybe im jus blind but all i saw was the ECU.... theres a small white box on the driver side bye the fuses.. is tht what you mean??

 

maybe you fried the cluster try swapping it out with a friends to see if it was it

 

swap chassis harness. Problem solved. No more fixing people's fuck ups. //thread

 

no that white box runs all the lights for the dash. the plug im talking about is found when you pull the glove box out. it will be in the right hand side, will have 6 wires to it and the plug will be white or brown.
