i would try and borrow a starter and battery from a buddys car and slap it on there real quick and listen to it run/drive it. that is if a s14 sr starter would work on a s15 sr?

If it runs good, then i say pick it up. S15 sr would be nice as well as the 6 speed.

Basically what 4wheeldrift said: I'd want to drive it first, seeing that it has a bigger turbo and stock mafs. And the radiator doesn't even line up. Is that because the core support is in crooked?

 

At least it has a GReddy kit, if it runs this really would be that bad of a find.

here's my $0.02... dude buys car, dude puts S15 motor in car, Dude feels JDM as fuuuuu and decides to be even more JDM and puts an ill fitting S15 front without paint on the car "jdm projekz yo!", then, dude throws on a top mount (ebay looking) turbo with a stock maf, dude boosts the shit out of it, blows a ring land or two... car sits... dude goes to jail for smoking crack (hence why he can't afford "just a starter and a bettery", needs bail money, has "bro" sell his blown SR piece of shit hatch for dirt to get out...

just like my gold car when i bought it "yeah bro, it's just the timings off a bit, and it has a vacuum leak, other than that, she's SOLID"..... blown T25 boosted to 25psi and blown/cracked/shattered ring lands later, i gotta get a new motor...

do what you want tho man. could totally be a sweet ride with another 5-6 THOUSAND worth of paint, maintainance, cleaning, wheels, tires....

or fuck it, go TR style, get it barely running, slap some different wheels on the back (drifter status brah), leave the kit fitting like shit, and rattle can the fucker whatever color you want.... and then post some thread in the tech section "what's that knocking sound, and why does my car lay a smoke screen on onramps?"

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say it's not a bad deal for 4k if it runs and passes a compression check. You could part it out for 4k, easy.
