Soooo.....
just adjusted my timing by frsports write up- http://www.frsport.com/How-To-Set-Cr...gine_t_25.html , and im only getting spark off of the first plug. ive moved my coilpacks around to each plug, and still only the first one works.. could this be a coil pack harness problem?? and its wierd because i checked with a volt meter, and i was only getting like 1/10 volt from the first plug, and same with 2 and 4, but #3 had 11-12 volts.. AND im getting 10-11 volts to the power on the plug that goes into the coilpakc harness.. fucking japs...

Uh, your cam timing has nothing to do with not getting spark.
Got any more background on the setup and issues before doing cam timing? On a setup that has been running, it's not common to have this issue.

yea, idk the guy said it was running, but then again he wrote that i bought the engine AS IS in the bill of sale(which he wrote AFTER i had signed it.. its wierd, he took the title to sign it after me, and went inside..... then came back out with it folded up.. and of course, i didnt think anything of it.. :/ )
and ive got ecu code 21- ignition signal
i although i wired the engine harness directly to the chassis harness, i wired the big black/red and big blue/red and brown all to the big black/red from the chassis.. idk why it would be giving that code.. and ive got 12 volts to the harness and every positive pin on the coil pack harness, but when i go to crank it an check for coil pack pulse, im getting less than 1 volt..

lol @ type x harness without J4/J5 ecu code. That sucks man, I hope that is the problem so you can finish your car!

yup, thanks to good ole moe at prs.. i mean he sorta hooked me up, but maybe screwed me over in the long run... :/ and i sure hope i can get this squared away before desoto..
and when you said without j4/j5 ecu code, is that meant by code 21??

62/63/E5/E6 ECUs basically have the same pin out. When Nissan did the J4 ECU, they changed it. If you mix and match the J4 with a different harness, you get a bunch of jumbled up mess. That also includes ignition on only 1 cylinder.
Code 21 refers to not getting a signal from the key cylinder when in the start position, signifying that the ECU should use it's startup routines. This is probably part of the ECU/harness issue.

that makes sense.. and i just did another code check this morning and its giving 55. but i also checked with the original harness ecu plug and a pin out chart thing, and its definately a type x harness. only the ignition drive #1 is pinned correctly so that def explains my spark issue. im waiting on the guy to send the j4 ecu out, so hopefully thats the problem..
