Here's the deal, I bought a 98' kouki about 3 months ago and have had some serious issues with it. The car has had a 5 speed swap done before I got it and I have fixed most of the issues.

However the problem now is that I have the engine cranking up, but there is no SPARK, the car is getting fuel but i cannot get spark...

I have replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor, distributor cap, rotor.

I have also checked all the grounds and even took my ecu out of the car and tried it in another s14 and it worked with no problems.

If anyone could help me that would be great...I think it might be something with the engine harness...but im not sure...

did you check and see if the coil is getting power? if it is have you pulled out the dist. and messed with it befor this problem? the dist. is pretty simple in nature for a s14 it has a internal coil and pickup wheel and a sensor for the wheel, did you wash the engine bay out at any time? do you have another dist. to change it out with to truble shoot it with? its not to offten the sensor takes a dump but it can happen, there have only been a handful of times Iv had to change one out for people but once in a while...also is your ignitor in good working order?
these are a few basic things to check so let us know!

 

I never washed the engine bay, when i got the car the motor was in and the harness was laying on top of it...also the 5 speed swap was a crap job...so i went back to square one and fixed most of the issues as far as getting the motor to crank over but just wont fire up...I replaced the distributor, cap and rotor with my friends from his s14 that works and nothing.

Also checked all the fuses/relays, checked the transistor and resistor near the dist,

ive taken out the crank position sensor and it is reading right amount of ohms...
