compression/timing question
hi tr i got a 91 240sx with 180xxx the motor was swap to another ka24de with lower mileage by previous owner. Now the problem is im hearing a tapping slash grinding noise in the head the engine runs and everything but it loses high end power can it be off timing. All help will be appreciated thanks.
remove your upper timing chain guides.
No, the ignition timing would not affext the compression test.
Your timing chain may be slapping around.
When you say 'loses high end power', what do you mean, does it bog?

if it snapped off that means it's bouncing around somewhere in your front cover. Find it and take it out before you cause your 240sx to blue screen of death.
if your timing chain is slapping around that means it is worn out.
i have a brand new timing chain set for sale let me know...
and find and remove ur upper timing chain guide mine broke on an old motor and it was getting sent to the valve cover with force lol
