Please excuse me if Im messing up any acronyms.. I dont know that much about Nissans.. My main questions is this - what do you guys think about swapping an SR20DET into a nice S14? Is it easy or hard good idea or bad etc?

Charles told me that with an S14 chances are Id still have a low mileage KA24 motor that I could turbo so my options would be open. Are there any pros and cons to these options?

Also what kind of price am I looking at to do this? I know that S14s are kinda hard to come by but looking through autotrader has me thinking I could get a fairly nice one for under $10000. How much does a good SR20DE swap run? Also do you stick with the stock turbo or should I look for a different one (for the SR20DE engine).

Thanks a ton.. also if anyone has any advice about places to go with plenty of information let me know.

ok.

S14s are very very plentiful. its just hard finding the SE ABS models which already included a Limited Slip differential from the factory.

But even thats not that big of a deal these days.

Swapping an SR20DET into a nice S14 is probably easy. its just wiring right? its probably about the same as a DX--SI swap.

As far as the engine mounts etc go the engine and transmission will bolt right in and use your existing mounts. No clearanc eproblems there.

Hit up heavy throttle.com and buy an S14 SR20DET from japan to go with your S14 stateside.

Thanks for the website mang!

After quickly looking through it looks like its gonna be $5000 - $6000 for an S14 swap including labor. I dont think thats too bad.

Also on the S15 (as if I didnt have enough questions) - how much better is it? Is it worth the extra money ($1000)?

30 extra horsepowers 480cc (correct me if iam wrong) injectors as opposed to 370cc injectors a beter flowing exhaust manifold a ball bearing turbo umm.. a NEWER engine (thats always a great thing) a larger maf more refined VTC.. etc.

the 6 speed transmisison and differential is nice also but currently they havent gotten the speedo to show up right.

I would get an s15 motor with an S14 transmission word.

if you need somebody to put a motor in i have a hoist stand etc etc etc and i dont charge 1000 for labor.

480cc injectors will max out at around 365 crank horsepower using the same hp calculator that i calculate the Z31s power with. I am very confident with its results.

The same calculator shows a listing of 281 crank horsepower being the max that the 370cc injectors will provide which agrees with the 240 rear wheel hp limits that people on freshalloy have gone with.

if you take 240/281 and multiply that number by 365 you get 311 which i would say is the max rear wheel horsepower you can get out of the 480cc injectors before upgrading.

Keep in mind this is running them full blast which is not completely reccomended.. But full blast is Max boost at Max rpm. So its not allof the time. remember that also.

so do every bolt on and you should be able to do that power.

The motor can easily handle that. Just be sure to get a good intercooler fuel pump downpipe exhaust boost controller ( so boost doesnt bounce a la avc-r) and computer. Go SDS because it owns you.
