Default SR20SET manifold questions

SO.... i had a bad day at the dyno... almost a complete waste of time and over $300, but fuck it, i made good power either way..

my problem is that i have an exhaust leak at the turbo/mani flange/mount.. so i'm going to go ahead and upgrade a tad with a better manifold and i'm thinking about getting this one..

SR20det Turbo Manifold S13 S14 Nissan New Release:eBay Motors (item 400066546995 end time Aug-25-09 13:18:37 PDT)

... you may ask yourself, or me "why do you want to change the mani, when it's probably just the gasket???" my response is i got it used, and cracked, has it welded, and overall no knowledge of the condition it's in, or the flange... so best to replace unknown parts...

i would go with a Tomei, or full race, but i can't swing that kind of chedder, especially if i'll be bringing my car back to get it tuned within a month...

either way, take a look at the above mani, and let me know what you think... it looks to be WAY better quality than those other "standard" megans, and megan lookalikes... AND it comes with the gaskets i need...

it comes with cheap, shitty gaskets. not oem.
and its cheap garbage.

stock manifold, or repeat this problem again, up to you.
but, you have so much other cheap crap on the car waiting to break, might as well add more to the pile.

yeah, just looked like a shiney ebay crap manifold.
The gaskets are just there to make it seem like a better deal...
I would just get a new gasket for yours, inspect it for any problems, and put it all back together. save up a few more coins and get a fullrace

i know the gaskets are shit... i'll be getting a multilayer metal one anyways.... it semed as if the turbo flange gasket was a stamped metal one, and not that paper shit...

all I'm looking at as far as this particular mani, is the long wide diameter runners, and the welding work... they're not all one long pipe to brake like megans and shit... just kinda thinking those welds might help reinforce the mani as an overal unit...

Graphite impregnated paper gasket for head->manifold.
Stamped multi-layer gasket for manifold->turbo.
These are both OEM.

Here's the thing about the multi-layer gaskets for the head->manifold that I didn't see before... I just did one on my brother's car and the layers are riveted together. But, the rivets are located to only clear the flanges on a stock manifold. If you have an aftermarket manifold with the large continuous head flange, it'll hit those rivets and most likely keep it from sealing properly. $20 down the crapper and you still have a leak. Should have just bought the $8 paper one from Nissan.

Hey man just go with a stock manifold. That's what I'm running. It is also gonna help that GTiR turbo spool a little faster. But if it is a manifold you want, I got a tubular one. It is tough as fuck. It has never cracked or leaked or anything. Lemme know

Epstein- thanks for clarifying that... i always thought those papers were crap, cause they always blow out on my 2 bolt 3"/3.5" exhaust gaskets... so, paper/metal up top, and the multi layer below...

ZenkiLB- they have a mani there, but nothing like what i need.... looks like good stuff though..

Petes- ISIS shit is just more ebay boop to me, but with a better name

hillbilly- that's a good idea, i hear the OEM manis are REALLY well made as far as flow and design... so i might stick with OEM... although do like the look of a tubular in there, and with the SSAC unit, with those 3" spaced welds, it looks like it's pretty stout compared to the other fare...
