Default gt2871r questions

So I plan to get one within a month or two and have a couple of questions. This what i have on my car right now:

redtop sr20det
s14 t28
turbo xs turbo manifold
trust downpipe
megan racing turbo outlet
z32 maf 740cc injectors
greddy intercooler
hks ssq bov on the hot-side

Questions:
1. Would I have to get a apexi safc and ethaply ecu tune? or just one or the other?

2.Would it be better to just get the apexi fd commander if those^ would be higher than this route?

3. Can I put the gt2871r turbo on without tuning it but just dont raise boost?

One answer for all your questions, Apexi PFC... Spend the extra dough and be done with it...

If you want to be a cheapass, Enthalpy, never trust your engine to an SAFC...

If you have 740cc injectors and a Z32 maf, you would have had to get that tuned, so you can install it and be done, a couple passes on the dyno and a retune wouldnt hurt, but you should be fine.

Yes, but make sure you hit redline a couple of times with the boost all the way up. It will seat the turbo bearings, and set the wastegate actuator. It's best to do this with only 1 quart of oil in the engine to make sure the turbo gets a couple heat cycles. Then get a tune.

If he's actually got 740cc injectors, its been tuned, likely with the Z32 maf in his list..

1. Just the enthalpy tune
2. No
3. Not a good idea.

What is your tuning budget?
Get the ethaply ecu tune. You don't need the safc with that tune.
PM Epstein he probably has a tune for this set-up
If you buy the commander you still need to have someone tune it on top of the price of the unit.
