Default replacing clutch questions

replacing the clutch on my s13, and I've got some questions

Do you need to/should replace the pilot bushing? or is it one of those, if it ain't broke, don't fix it things?

Can you clean the clutch plate? Its been sitting out for a bit. It isn't greasy or anything like that, its just been handled as its been moved around. I was thinking brake cleaner...

what are the torque specs for the pressure plate? or the flywheel? any tips on how to unbolt/bolt the flywheel so you aren't just spinning the motor? other than using an impact gun....

thanks!!

I'd replace the pilot bushing...Your in there so why not? Just one less thing to worry about. idk bout the cleaning of the clutch plate or the torque specs but an easier way to take off the flywheel bolts, theres a tool for that. I've used it on all my trucks. Heres a pic...

that's what I was thinking about the pilot bushing, I just didn't know if it was really worth the work or not... Or if you ran the risk of damaging something else... ya know..

Assuming you could pick one of those up at Harbor Freight? What would one call that?

yes you can spray down the clutch plate with brake cleaner.

torque specs:

pressure plate: 16-22 ft-lb
flywheel: 105-112 ft-lb
