Default Dropped the tranny today

Dropped the tranny in an apartment parking lot by myself.

She'll will be running tomorrow.

Got the tranny dropped and pulled off the clutch.

The odd part is actually what my clutch was.

Anyone who's driven my car will know how weird my clutch pedal felt, and I figured out why.

Whoever owned the car before me decided to throw in a 6 puck sprung disc in, yet decided to use the factory pressure plate.

Basically what took my car out for a while was one of the springs in the disc came out of its housing and got wedged somewhere, keeping my clutch from disengaging.

Always fun.

I'm throwing a stage 1 xtd in, just because I had easy access to it. I just don't see how mine lasted with the stock pressure plate.

That clutch really isn't that bad. The pedal feel is normal for an aftermarket clutch. One just has to learn to slip it out different than a disk clutch to get over the chatter. I run one in my car as well, no problems.

Also, it's been in my car for almost 3 years now with abusive driving. Still holds strong.

whatcha mean chatter?
I was drivin' around in a coupe that supposively had a 6 puck clutch in it... unsprung I believe, and other than the pedal feeling different, I didn't drive it any differently and didn't notice any more or less noise... I never really got on it enough to slam it around to see if it was what they said it was or not..

would a 6 puck sprung drive like a "normal" clutch?
