I have a 93 240 sx but I dont have the thing that you put on the sun roof to block the sun...The sun is coming striaght in...I see there are clips on it but I have no idea where to buy the blocker...

 

throw some tint on it dude. like really dark.

Bad idea, that's a sure fire way to shatter your sunroof.

Just make a cover out of reinforced foam core. Attach with velcro. Takes 20 minutes, just be inventive.

Urban myth. I've heard of sunroofs shattering from all sorts of forces applied to them. Tinting it maybe it increases your risk of it shattering SLIGHTLY, but it's not just going to spontaneously explode once you install tint. Haha, I wouldn't worry about it, but that's just my .02.

I used to be in the tint bidness and can tell you that most sunroofs have a reflective barrier already between the layers of the glass. How cracks form is when the sun's rays get trapped between the laminate and the applied laminate. It doesn't happen immediately but it will happen. We did it just for fun to an office window and a car sunroof...took about a week to spiderweb.

 

I dunno... I googled it real quick and saw a bunch of people *saying that tint places told them that it would break, and didn't find any actual people saying it DID break.

I did find a sweet story by some guy with a new BMW who had his untinted sunroof explode randomly while driving down the interstate though. Haha.

 

maybe get like those window rolly thingy for babies, where u just pull it down to protects the baby's face
