dipstick question
I had to modify the way the dipstick curves, and now it just slides easily inside and out of the block. What can I use to seal it a bit better? Will gasket maker work around it? Thanks

^^^ What he said... The only problem is you might not be able to find the perfect size to fit it in the hole, so you may have to trim it alittle. By that I mean trim some rubber off the outside to make the OD smaller..
i'd pass on the gasket maker, it's just too messy for the application, and also creates a bond, than once you pull the dipstick back out, it will pull away, leave excess...
just got to lowes or Home Depot, look for a larger O-ring, buy a couple of em, hell they're like $.40 each, and see which one fits, and if you're a jew, return the ones you didn't use, that way you don't have to trim, RTV, or any bullshit....

ok thanks guys that's what I would do... its because I had to bend the dipstick because of the top mount manifold I'm going to use and it got really loose on the block. And I will need to even trip the power steering bracket because the manifold is even hitting that... thanks again for the great help!
