Do you know anything about the rest of the turbo? What compressor housing does it use?
With a T3/T04E the 0.63 A/R turbine housing can support approxiamtely 320 wheel hp at 20 psi. The larger 0.82 turbine can support right around 80 at the same 20 psi of boost.

While the housing specs are important so are the wheel specs as well. For example a 57 trim compressor wheel can flow a *lot* more CFM than a 46 trim compressor. Trim is a function of the inducer diameter....exducer diameters are the same. The bigger the wheel the more it can flow...as long as it matched correctly with the turbine.

but i am not worried about the wheels as any wheel can be machined to fit in any housing -- to a f;ng point ya know
but the housings are important b/c that is what allows them to be bolted on

All we need to know about the housings is what family they are in..T25 T3 T4 etc...
Oh by the way you should not just hog out the housing and stuff a big ass wheel in there. For example I had my T28 rebuilt here in Tampa before I knew shit about turbos. I told the guy to upgrade it using his knowledge. So he found the largest possible wheel that would fit in the T28s T3 compressor housing. It was an S or V trim T04B wheel. The turbo turned out to be a piece of shit after it was done. The efficiency was way down from stock. This is because when you machine out the compressor housing too much for a larger wheel you cut into the diffuser of the housing. The diffuser is where most of the work is done in the compressor. When you decrease the area of the diffuser you lose several points worth of compressor efficiency.
Bottom line here is to spec or your own turbo using compressor maps and the pertinent info about your engine. So stay away from the junkyard man!

By the way 330 hp at 19 psi is not overly impressive especially on a V6 with 3.0L of displacement.
A properly matched straight T3 with a 0.82 A/R turbine housing on an SR20DE(T) will put down about 310 hp at 19 psi...and that is with only 2.0L of displacement.
Bottom line if you are looking for a good upgrade from a Bluebird turbo go with a T28 or a properly specd T3 T3/T4 or T4.
