don't tempt me..... i'm not even low enough to warrant such ballertown shit...

besides, we got bigger fish to fry....

dumping fuel
low comp (till rings seat?)
no ignition of gas, BUT there is spark
turns over no firing...
constantly throwing Code 13, or Coolant Temp Senor, and throws that code right off the bat...

basically the same symptoms as before we tore the motor apart... at least it's in, etc etc, pics later

let's all hold a candlelight vigil to keep Clawhammer from cutting himself... i feel pretty disappointed too, as this whole project was kinda my baby too.... but we'll get it right, no worries....

Have you changed the coolant temp sensor out? A new one wouldn't hurt anything, besides they are cheap. Is Claw positive that he got all the wiring correct?

he says he did, and if he says he's pretty damn sure he did it right, he's got my vote.... but it wouldn't explain why it would throw the CTS code every time we check for codes after trying to start.... and yes, we swapped in another one, and then his original one...

we're both at a loss, i was thinking on it today, but didn't come up with anything...

I'm just gonna lay under it and kick out the jack stands. Then you guys can put on my tombstone, "This car will be the death of me."

It's doing the same thing before we tore it apart, I highly doubt it's wiring. It did this before, I did the harness. I'm not just saying it's not the wiring to save from looking like a failure. I want it to run more than I care about how I look.

I honestly think it's your timing Claw as said last night... Mechanical, hopefully you'll be able to get it straightened out tonight... GL.

okay so update guys..... we set TDC at the crank, and No 1 piston, CHECK clocked cams, 10/12 oclock CHECK.... we then put everything back together, and went to start it, turned over twice, fired once, and continued to turn over... i threw out there that we should check comp, cause it's so easy and tells alot about wtf is going on. S the results were....

No1=160
No2=145
No3=150
No4-155ish

we then decided to do a wet test, poured a bit of that marvel in there, and did another comp test, resuts

No1=185
No2=160ish
No3=145 (why still low? cam timing still?)
No4=180

after the comp test we put all plugs back in, connected everything, checked all connections, and vacuum lines... and went for another start up test... she tuned over about 3 times, fired once, and then continued to tunr over....

so that's where we stand, compression is now up to somewhat acceptable levels, and it fired TWICE, although it didn't run... that's the status...

oh, and the whole time, the Code 13 for the Collant Temp Sensor was being thrown... if all else fails (and i just thought of this) i may put my fuel rail w/stock injectors, stock SR maf and my stage one GRID tuned ECU... my set up runs SUPER smooth in my car, so that at least it worth as shot...

as far as the CTS goes, i think clawhammer is going to pick one up tomorrow after he gets off work... maybe a new one will solve some problems.... we'll see....

thoughts anyone? ANY suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated...

when your cranking on it and its still dumping fuel pull the fuel pump fuse or relay and continue cranking on it, see if it trys to start or sputter at all

my lag is your courtesy head start

ATTENTION.... installing a head gasket, head studs or pistons and rods in your otherwise STOCK engine dose not make it a "built" engine! stop listing you cars for sale saying they are built when its not!!
