90' 240sx speedometer problem.

90' 240sx speedometer problem.
Any guesses? I used to be able to get it to work sometimes by smacking the dash over it but now that doesn't work. Think somethings unplugged, or should i just swap the fucker? I just want more ideas than what I've come up with before I take anything apart.

they break all the time and yes just the speed-o part does. and nissan wants like $250+ to fix it. i know how fast im going by the rpm gadge i studied the speed-o and rpm's when it was going out. just by a used on and swap it out and hope it works lol

simple to change; also is this analog cluster that is fucking up, or HUD? *heads up display
