i'm not sure which forums you are reading but that plenum is all show no go.

Dont get me wrong, it is a beautiful piece of machinery, it just produces the same horsepower as a $225 Motordyne spacer. If you want to pay the extra 5-$600 for the additional bling, then power to you, but if your looking for performance your waisting the extra money.

and thats what i have heard from a few people as well. im not in it for bling at all.
i will be doing exhaust and intake for now, just to get some good flow and better sound.

so if i do the plenum spacer, would Skunk2 be ok? or stick with motordyne?

Thanx for the response!!

Forget about that plenum, its a overpriced bling item that adds no horsepower.

You have a regular DE Z non-revup. 5/16 Motordyne spacer, Testpipes, Pop-charger, Exhaust, Headers, Tune and Gears. Thats the hottest setup for your car. Dont do anything else, these are the only mods that really make power on a NA DE Z.

ALSO NO OTHER BRAND SPACERS!! No skunk2, No AAM, No blox. Just Motordyne, its the only spacer that makes power, others allow to much air, the 5/16 is proven.

My 04.5 made 282Hp 262Tq with the mods listed above exactly.

i would stay away from Skunk2 just for the fact you will have clearance issues. Gaurunteed you wont be able to your strut bar with it.

I have Motordyne ISO spacer with the CCV valve. I have absolutely no complaints. Took me about 3 hours to install from start to finish. Honestly it was one of my last mods so i didn't notice a whole lot of difference.

(intake, spacer, headers, HFCs, Full exhaust)

I'll tell you though the ISO spacer and the CCV vavle make a noticeable difference bye far. It keeps the plenum so cool you can rest your hand on it when your car has been running for however long. Fully warmed car with a lukewarm plenum cooling down intake air temperatures. Not that does a whole lot, but it doesn't hurt.

You can talk to Tony which is the engineer/owner of Motordyne on www.my350z.com Hes really helpful and very timely with his responses.

I have also have a write i did on the install if you want i'll post it, let me know?

Let us know how things go.

I'd like to hear what you guys think about manifolds/spacers for a Rev-Up (05 track) car. IIRC, the Rev-Up motor has a smaller plenum than the standard DE, and just going to a DE manifold adds power.

Wrong. Only plenum mods for rev-up that make power in the midrange..mainley tork is the MREV2 (modified DE lower plenum) and the 5/16 spacer used together.

Putting the spacer on by itself has Zero performance benefits on the Rev-Up motor, MREV2 and spacer MUST be used together .

The Rev-Up Plenum has runners tuned for topend Hp. The DE lower plenum has long runners tuned for more low end tork. Putting on a DE lower plenum will robb you of HP and add no tork.

Please guys read this link and all your questions will be answered. The 350Z is a VERY pickey car when it comes to mods. There is really no NA bolt-ons that are going to get u more REAL power, they will mainley only Free-up the power u already have and make the car run like a 300hp car should. With full boltons you will be lucky to see a 25hp difference. Getting the car ReFlashed is probably the most performance increasing mod that can be done to the car. Little things such as 100% throttle below 30mph will be allowed. Nissan programmed alot of the throttle restrictions so the car would be safe for a old lady to drive. A RWD car with 300Hp and almost matching tork can kill. People arent aware that there basically buying a smaller Corvette.

heres a link to the Top 100 questions.... http://my350z.com/forum/2003-2008-ni...questions.html

Also heres some other good reading.
