Default safc question

I have an s13 with Ka-t. It has an S-AFC in it but the safc stays on when the car is off. Originally the red wire was spliced into the black/white ecu power wire. Is it ok to get power from another source so that it turns off when the ignition is off.

Also is it normal for the ecu to have constant power?

ka ecus will not stay on after the ignition is off you might have an open circut somewhere witch i do know is common with older 240's were having a battery drain problem on a car were working on now. and the ecu stays on after the key is off and not on any other car have we had this problem. and i belive its ok to use a switchable power source im just not sure on what one to use with what voltages and such...i'll ask my buddy where his profec is hooked to today
