Is the q45 brake conversion worth it?

people state that it is just as good as running a z32 set up.

But , I highly doubt it since not that many people do it.

 

I have them on my car. I run Hawk pads and SS lines with OEM rotors. Cheaper then Z32's and work with the stock master cylinder better since it requires less fluid to move the pistons so the pedal isnt as mush.

The rotors are the same diameter as the Z32's (11") and are 28mm thick which is inbetween the Z32's 26 or 30mm rotors depending on which year you get. I believe the later model q45's came with even bigger rotors.

If they're good enough to stop a 4200 pound car, they're good enough to stop a 2700 pound car.

 

i know everyone says theyre cheaper and yes they maybe are but at advancedautoparts.com you can get z32 aluminum or iron 30mm or 26mm with everything including clips and pins. remanufactured for $95 per caliper. i like how they don't look like the look of stock s13 brakes and the q45's look identical but alil bigger rotor. this is just my personal opinion though

 

^ with core though...otherwise its an extra 65 bucks (at autozone)

 

oh well it doesnt matter my buddie will get me employee discount when i order mine. but still even without core 300 bucks for brand new calipers not bad ya know

 

Just want the ability to stop better ,dont care much about the look.

 

most parts store employes don't know the diff. between z32,q45 or s13 calipers... just take the cores back to the store you bought them from in the box and get core charge back...

 

They look identical? The Q45 caliper is twice as big, since it has 2 pistons. Who buys budget brakes based on looks?
