what do you do with your nissan?
I use mine as a mailtruck, turn taker, daily driver, "get pretty girls to talk with me at red light car".
"Hey why is your steering wheel is on the wrong side"
"It is? NU UH?" lol
It's supposed to be my daily driver, but it seems like I put more miles on it for fun than I do using it as basic transportation, and lately it's had more downtime than uptime because of mods/maintenance/breakage. So it stretches the "daily driver" definition.
The car's most frequent use is hitting back roads at high speeds late at night, as a poor-quality substitute for open track time. Second is autocross, which I do mostly because it's cheap and local and it's supposed to be the best way to build basic car control and driving skill. This is in preparation for what I really want to do- HPDE weekends at Sebring, ERS, and other tracks farther afield. I've only done one open lapping event at Gainesville Raceway, but it was just about the most fun I've had in a car. It also completely cooked my crappy stock brakes and tires. Ever since that event I've been upgrading and replacing everything I can to try to get the car ready and able to handle the abuse of lapping a bigger track like Sebring.
I've also taken my car to the drag strip a few times just for the fun of it, but an NA KA is hardly worth running. My last car ran an 11.9 running out of fuel up top, and with bigger injectors I was shooting for 11.5 or faster. Going from that to 15.5 is a big step in the wrong direction. On the oddball side of things the first event I raced my car in was a rallycross almost a year ago. I was curious and signed up on a whim, and it was fun, but the 240 is definitely not the best offroad racer out there. With crap tires and an open diff it was even worse, although having stock springs and shocks was a big plus. The car wouldn't have even made it past the first big dip if I was running coilovers.
Strangely enough the only thing I've never tried is drifting. I want to try it some day, but of all the motorsports out there it seems like it has one of the steepest learning curves, is the most abusive on the car, and has the highest potential for wrecking. Not to mention the biggest egos and least friendly reception for n00bs who don't know what they're doing, if the TR drifting forum is any indication. It's sort of out of the question right now as I'm still open diff and that just makes the learning curve even steeper. I figure that if I ever get an LSD I might throw some crap tires on the rear and head out to an event to try it out- if I find one at a safe venue where one mistake isn't going to put me into a wall.

My nissan just sits on jack stands for the day that I might one day attempt to finish it.
