Default How big is too big?

I was wondering what is the biggest size tire you can get for a s13?
W/O hitting the fender in the front when you turn?
and, would a 225 55 r15 fit on a rim, that has a tire 205 60 r15?
wanna get that wider tire.
Thanks.

any tire will fit on any rim as long as its the tire is the same size as the rim. the last number on the tire would have to be the same as the rims like a 225 55 16 would fit on a 16 inch rim. a 225 55 17 would fit on a 17. a 305 55 16 would fit on a 16 inch rim.ect... it depends on how wide your rim is if u wanna wider tires. and how much clearance u have in your fender wells.

it also depends on your suspension setup, that also determines how much space u have. i woulnt go bigger than a 235 on the front. thats just my opinion

It all depends on the offset of the wheel being used. I run a 255/40/17 on the front of my s13 with no rubbing issues at all.

what offset do you have and are you lowered? I've seen 255 before too though. but thats a lot of meat up front for the everyday person.

i wouldnt go above 235 unless you really nead more bite for something. above posts are also important to notice the idea of width of rim. 225 on a 8inch wide is no stretch and no balloon look. 205/215 would be better look and perhaps better handling (less sidewall balloon flex) on turn-in. try using better compound tires (higher performance) before getting too big/ballooning the tire sidewalls.

Im running 17x9 +20 offset at all 4 wheels. The car is as low as I can get it on the coils. The rear fenders are rolled only slightly to get the car as low as possible. I thought running the same offset and width would look like shit all around, but it came out perfect. My s13 has an sr so theres no need for wide tires up front, I just wanted an aggressive offset and figured why not go wide.

Screw it, be cool like everyone else and stretch a motorcycle tire on a 15" wide wheel.
