300,000+ miles of faithful service and...
just a quick question for you pres. did you do anything special to it maintenece wise to make it last that long?like seafoam every XXXXX miles or, a certain kind of oil, other fluids, etc etc. (if you get what im asking lol.)
I don't want to blow this block up, it's well "seasoned."
Really, I did nothing out of the ordinary with it. I try to treat it with kid gloves when I drive it daily which also aids in really good gas mileage. The oil was always changed every 2500 miles with Mobil High Mileage clean 5000 10-40 and I threw in a can of Zmax every 6 months which seemed to really help it out. I always keep the air filter clean and make sure the block is free of oil/crusty dirt so I can repair leaks as they happen.
Good service intervals and not thrashing on the car every day is what made it last.
Oh, I had to drive it to work today. For those who lament the fact that I ditched the camo paint, fret not. I have "active" camo thanks to the exhaust plume. Can't wait to get home and see how much oil she sucked down on the commute.
