24 thousand dollar transmission!!GTR related.
Well i thought id share with you guys something i heard at work today. We have had a Nissan engineer at our dealership lately showing the techs some things about the newer cars. I started to talk to him about the GTR's transmission and how they work just trying to get an idea of how a automatic transmission with clutches and no torque converter work. Its actually a pretty cool design well ill stop rambleing but anyways there was a guy that purchased two GTR's from the dealership, one for track events and one for daily driving. Well he has already trashed the tranny in his track car and Nissan will not cover it and they are charging him 24k for just the transmission. I could of just typed that but whatever. I will try to pull up some info on the transmission and how it works maybe i can find a exploding vew of it on all data or one of our programs. Anyways its pretty cool how it works. Also incase you did not know the GTR has a rear mounted Transmission which is something new for Nissan. I know some of you know this stuff but i thought i would post something Nissan technical related since this forum isnt really going anywhere. Like i said i will post some cool info on here when i get a chance but i found a website with alot of good info.

Z06's have trans axles since 97. Standard C5s used a standard T56 and the C6 runs the new TXX version
ferrari, lambo and porsche units are different since the motor is still right there with them still like all mid/rear engine cars. They have no driveshafts unless they are the AWD verions.
GTR unit is original in it being the first front engine car with a AWD transaxle. Both driveshafts are angled so that under heavy launchs when the car squats down the become parrallel with the ground.
So if anyone is still going to say swap this motor into a S chassis there is your proof it will never happen anytime soon. Your better off buying the GTR
