Question sr20det help

got my sr running awesome. got 255lph fuel pump, fmic, greddy type rs bov, etc. 10psi boost. runs and idles great. drive it... stop... great. run it hard and stop for a minute and it starts smoking. doesnt smoke under load, only at idle. and when its smoking and u give it some gas it smokes like crazy.... embarrasing. if i drive it normal for a bit it stops the idle smoking. btw... its oil. not fuel, not coolant....oil. compression holds evenly across the board. dont know if theres some typical sr20 thing or somethin. im thinkin its turbo seals, but im not sure how to tell(it doesnt have shaft play). ne info will be great and REP WILL BE GIVIN TO THOSE THAT HELP. thnx

Yeah that definitely sounds like turbo seals.

I had the same problem, and thought I was going to have to replace the turbo but I was changing the oil the other day and looked at the oil return line coming off the bottom of the turbo and going in to the block and it had slipped a little letting oil squirt out a little and causing it to smoke. I'm assuming that yours has a small rubber line for your oil return like mine, if not then just ignore me. good luck

ok, but everything is pretty much stock. wouldnt a bigger turbo be overkill? how hard is it to rebuild?

I have a sc50 turbo that needs a rebuild. You could always upgrade turbo, manifold, ect.

I've learned that when something goes bad, just upgrade to something better.

t28 would be the best for you then since your motor is stock..

T28 is awesome because it bolts to the stock manifold. No need to buy another manifold. But requires different inlet and outlets. a/f will be an issue hints why people upgrade to larger injectors and a Z32 300zx MAFS sensor
