brake problem
My 240 sat in the driveway for like almost 4 weeks with just the rear wheels on and jackstands in the front.. (long story) anyway, so i finally got all the wheels on and everything and took it out for a drive and realized after about a minute or two that i had no brakes at all.. the brake pedal just went straight to the ground. So i stopped and started pumping the brake pedal thinkin that maybe it just lost pressure in the lines or somethin but it didnt help at all. So then i checked the brake fluid and the level seemed to be fine.. looked a little dirty tho. Does anybody know what could be causing this problem? i replaced my struts/springs which required me to remove the top part of the brake caliper but im pretty sure i put it back together just the way it was suppose to be.. so idk if maybe that has nething to do with it? maybe somethin happened from it being up on jack stands for so long? i havent really taken any time to look it over yet, just thought i'd be lazy and see if anybody had any input first lol. but anyway, any advice or pointers would b greatly appreciated.
If you are running the stock rubber lines, they may have dry rotted on you. Inspect the brake lines for any leaks. Is your brake master cylinder losing fluid? Use dot 3 fluid, it is recommended and really easy to bleed because it is less viscous than dot 4, 5, etc.
