Default ka-t finalizing decisions, but need confirmations

hey guys,

after browsing/searching through all the stickies for going KA-T at NICO, ive come to conclude a few things and i was hoping someone can tell me if this setup will suffice for my goals.

my goals are to run ~6psi on a t25 turbo with around 180-200whp

so, my setup will basically be:
- KA24de on stock internals
- turbo kit
- intercooler
- IC piping
- t25 turbo
- 6psi wastegate
- running 6psi
- 8:1 FMU
- walbro 255 fuel pump
- STOCK injectors

so from my searching so far, i am lead to believe that i need the following for a SAFE LOW-boost set up.

I...
- DONT need to retarding the timing @ 6psi (or do i retard by .75 degree per pound of boost?)
- NEED colder spark plugs
- NEED walbro fuel pump
- NEED 8:1 FMU
- DONT need a tune

so am i good to go? feel free to correct anything just wrong!

um i would def get some kind of tune weather it be a street tune (done by someone who knows what their doing unless you do) on a SAFC or a tuned ECU..it will last longer and keep you from breaking something..I think with a decent tune and those mods, you may be a little high in power levels, also i would put sr 370cc injectors in just to be safe that you don't have any problems there.

edit::you would have a little higher power levels or at least have the room to go up a little bit...dude once you boost and get it going, your going to want to turn it up and you'll always want more boost and more power so might as well get the injectors and a good manifold, turbo elbo and bov. also what are you going to be using this car for, racing, sliding or just DD

maybe a bit of racing, but mostly DD lol

so safc+sr injectors instead of a 8:1 FMU?
thats the main thing im confused on right now..

also the timing is something im not sure about.
is there a rule where ifyou run 1-7 psi of boost, no need to retard it?
and if you run 7+ you have to start applying the -0.75 degree per psi?

i would retard the timing anyway, you dont want the motor to pop on you when your street tuning it because you didnt move timing back some,

Its always a good thing to retard timing at any boost level..

hahahaahhha stock injectors.....................hahahahahahah stock internals.........hahahahahahahahahaha fmu....................hahahahahahahahahaahahah... ..........................ok i'm done.

things you should change.........

put sr injectors in with a maf and tune
and do a head gasket and studs minimum.

depending on the milage of the motor don't exspect it to last a long time.

I'd suggest a ROM tune at the minimum. Not only is it safer but you'll be able to run more PSI. 6psi on a t25 is nothing.

isn't that FMU thing the thing that multiplies the fuel pressure? or am I getting my letters mixed up... if it is, then do not use that.
Also, You do need a tune. Will it run, yes. Will it last, no.
Tune it
no matter what else you do, it needs tuned...
period.
no if ands of butts about it,
get it tuned...
