so i found my problem....
so i found my problem....
i snapped a rocker on the number 3 cylinder exhaust side.
as you can see the rocker snapped in 2 clean and i found both pieces of the rocker and where they settled was out of the way of the cam lobe and my cam was untouched. when it happened i turned off the car immediately and i thinki saved it.
but... the little cap on top of the valve that the rocker sits on is missing..
i found the other one laying right next to the valve so i have a total of 3 pieces laying in the top of the head.. ive looked inside the head for about 2 hours with every light you can imagine. i still cant find the little metal disk that fell inside the head somewhere.
any ideas of a way to find it without taking off the head or oil pan. and do you think it could have fit down through one of the valleys in the font or back of the head. thanks
oh and btw its a blacktop sr20

that pic screams "FOUND IT!!!!!!!" LOL......i had the tq specs somewhere ill look for them
tighten them in the tightening order, first to 17 inch pounds, then to 52 inch pounds, then to 104 inch pounds.
thats the tightening order.
(if you dont have a torque wrench, "until the bolt is tight" will work too.
