Thought this was pretty different. head palm to the car's wing and skyline tails but cool because Mercedes supercharger on a 1's cam

I can imagine the throttle response. but like Will said I wonder of its reliability..especially being a 1's cam

Somewhere I was reading about a SR20de that was roots blown, sounded interesting. Too bad the blower is a real mileage killer (important these damn days).

eh,
cool idea, I'm just not a fan of superchargers.
that and 4-5 pounds of boost just doesn't seem like it would be worth all that work.
I give it a few months til that motor blows.

The key to a reliable boosted stock-internals KA is keeping the boost pressure reasonable and good tuning. KA's got the reputation for being boost unfriendly years ago when SAFC's ruled, motorsets were $150, and no one knew any better. Who cared if your motor popped? Eat Ramen for a week or 2 and start over. Some people need to update their outlook. There are stock internals KAs making over 500whp. A good tune goes a long way. Running a stock N/A ECU with an SAFC is a recipe for disaster simply because the timing will be entirely too agressive. The most conservative AFR in the world isn't going to matter if you're sparking it 12* too early.

But that's all KA24DE stuff. That single-cam probably won't last long even with good tuning. Hell, with zero boost and stock tuning, they spit headgaskets.
