New car - couple questions, etc. WTB: VG30DETT**
I just bought a '95 TT in Deep Metallic Purple. Only a thousand or so of these in this color were made, possibly less. It's quite rare. The car has 150k on the body and around 100k on the motor, I really dont know whats on the motor but I know it's been swapped. HICAS has been removed. The car has Z1 SMIC's, Z1 Oil cooler, Labree 2.5" DP's, Labree 3" Full Exhaust, K&N Air Filter, GT600R Ball bearing turbos, Blitz Boost Controller, and HKS BOV's. The guy I bought it from bought it a few months ago from a kid who was in the shit hole with his Dad, owed him some money, so he was forced to sell the car. I talked to him about the car and he said he thinks there is a problem with the main rod bearing and that it needs to be replaced (which would require a motor pull and the WHOLE motor needing to be swapped because supposedly ZFever (what a shit shop that is, never go there) screwed the heads to where they are non-feasable). I am going to ZTuner/Advanced Racing Tech. tomorrow afternoon to get the car checked out and see if something is truly wrong with it. I noticed some oil from the passenger side (where the turbo would be
) so I am praying it's just the lines and not the seals (which it could very well be). The car is running smooth though when I drive it. There are no knocks at all, even at 3k RPM like the guy said, I will have to pay more attention to try and hear it tomorrow, but the car is really... a fucking rocket. The car dynoed at 430+whp on pump gas. It's running about 10-12lbs right now because I am not really going to run high boost or run in boost at all anymore until i get this car figured out tomorrow.
One last question,
If the main bearing is shot, can anyone help me with a pull/swap? I could REALLY save myself some money, but I need some really knowledgeable people here because the VG is complicated, as we all know.

IMHO JDM engines are a crap shoot, you could spend a good amount of money on it just to have it blow up a month later (or it could last awhile). If it is toast then I would rebuild it, that way you know what is in it and it's done right. All new engine = no problems.........as long as it's done right that is

Car boosts real well. Talked to Harry @ ZTuner, he said its tuned to run 18lbs on these turbos, but safely run at 15lbs right now. The car was dynoed at 440 something he said and he said it should be running fine, no worries. He tuned it for the high compression due to the heads and said not to worry about a main bearing knock - he said he has never heard of it. Pics up later.

There is a gold Z at a dealership here in live oak. I see it everday......it's a na slush box though.........
