bad experiences jacking car up from rad. support?
j/w if anyone has had any bad experiences jacking their car up by the rad support, ive been doing it a while but some guy told me not to do it, it crumples easy, so just wondering?:nerd:

Hes tell you the truth. The radiator support itself is not very strong and can crumple under the cars weight. You are better off jacking directly from the frame rails or from the jacking points on the side of the car.
|
i know its not that sturdy, but i thought it would be fine, i cant get to the side point because of sideskirt
|
my friend cracked his radiator lifting from there on a J30

O-o; ORLY?
What about the tow hook in the front?.. :I |
ive always jacked it up by the core support never had a problem with any of my cars.
|
tow hooks are sweet
|
Youd be find to jack there just to get some weight off the car to get up higher so you could get a jack in a real jacking spot. But id never pick a car up off the ground that way.

i have used the rad support but now ill think twice...
i hate the jack spots on the side cuz you have to use the stock jack or u crumble in that lip... |
thanks for the help guys...i usually use the tow hooks but sometimes to be more sturdy i would so the core support but ya ill prolly stop now lol
