Cool stuff, Ive seen that show once I think.

Glad I could inspire you. lol

be carefull when you clear, because it tends to peal the model paint if you spray the first coat to thick. Do a really light first 2 coats and let that sit for over about 2 hours then clear the hell out of it.

I gave my cover about 3 days to let the model paint set then cleared. Zac (painted my cover) painted his brothers helemet and cleared it about 2 hours after he finished it and it pealed all over the place.

Nothing in mind really...just though it was really freaking cool.

Good tips! What clear did you use, the wheel clear? I've had good results with that stuff. I'll probably let that cover sit for a good long time before any clear goes on it...3-4 days at least.

I'm getting ready to add Carl to it right now...he's awesome.

500* engine enamel clear. I use that on everything.

High heat clear isn't necessary for valve covers.

So everyone was right...it needed a little something else. I had to Carl it.

But it still needed more than just Carl. Fans of the show will recognize this from the side of Carl's car.

I'm done with it now...only the sanding of the raised letters and clear is left.

No but its more durable than other clears and its the same price. It also seems to lay more even for a spray can and is thicker.
