alternator fuse blowing up?
im sure theres been a write up on this already but i cant find anything that helps, i search all the forums and google and found nothing useful but heres the problem
my alternator on my car was bad so i replaced it with a good working one and now when i hook the battery back up it blows the alternator fuse, so i checked the out the lower harness and made sure all the ground and plugs were pluged and found that everything was correct, so i jsut replaced the fuse and right when i plug it in it blows again, so i double checked and dont know what else to look for and replaced it again and it blew
any ideas?
also when i turn the key off the power stays on even with the key all the way out it only turns off if i stick the ket back in and re turn it acouple times, ignition switch maybe?
thanks for your help!

check for a plastic washer on the main ground on the alt, thats what my problem was, missing that makes it ground out on it self and blow the fuse
good luck, Eric

no radio in the car right now, but as for the grounds there was a little washer on the little 8mm bolt i couldnt get to work cause i got the car with a ghetto rigged lower harness, could that be it though? im not sure if the main ground is the big bolt on or the 8mm

doubt thats it^ but maybe, it would have to be a good size mess to blow that 75 amp fuse
it should have a platic washer also on the bigger bolt bud, so check that. i had the same problem, went through 4 of those fucking fuses
had a friend find that washer missing and it fixed everything

I suggested the radio area because if the radio was hacked out of there, then it would have messed with all sorts of things, like the interior lights, the dimmer, etc etc etc. That would help to explain why the power stays on even without the key in. My buddies RX7 is like that. The previous owner hacked the radio out and now, if you sit funny in the car, the lights come on... even with no key...
