What do you guys do when it comes to valve knock?
The only time there is smoke is when you stomp on the gas, once it is in the higher RPMS, it smokes some, looks like black smoke...
it seems/sounds like one valve...
The motor has a slight miss, probably vacuum related, the previous owner jimmy rigged some stuff...

Other than blow it up and get a new motor, what are some of the options?

 

oh, I forgot to add, the motor is a stock SOHC KA...

 

well, I got tired of not being able to go anywhere, so being rather pissed at my car, I decided to hell with it and I drove it across town. I'd say after 20 ish minutes of rather hard driving, the knock went away... Since the motor didn't blow, and it didn't start smoking, and there was no real loss in performance, I would have to assume that what ever was causing that annoying noise fixed itself.....
