Default 99 altima ka24de head question

i have a 99 altima and im going to get the head rebuilt but i cant take the car off the road for more than a day so i need to buy another head to get rebuilt so i can swap the heads out on a saturday

my question is- do i need a head from a 99 altima or can i use any dual cam head say from a older 240 or do i need to stay with the newer head

and if i can use a older head is there any major or minor differences i need to know about?

this is my wifes daily driver so anything performance related isn't really an issue just as long as it still drives right and doesn't throw the check engine light on

thanks in advance!

heads are different.
call clearwater cylinder head, they may have a head in stock, and will take yours as a core.
