Default Assistance needed

Ok, hate to come in looking like such a n00b to the site, but i'm truly in un-charted waters when it comes to Nissans.

Looking to pick up a mid-late 90s Maxima or 240 for a daily driver, however my knowledge only goes as far as what i've read so far. Was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction as to what to stay away from, what to look for in these cars. I'm not looking for a project car (already have one of those), however if some basic work is required that isn't a big deal. Would prefer a manual, but not required (maybe a swap in the future depending on difficulty, etc).

Sorry to be so vague, but appreciate any assistance that can be offered.

Really, if you just want a driver to get around in. Maxima, 240.. either will work. You can get a good running 240 for pretty cheap. But when it comes down to it... it's a Nissan and you will eventually end up working on it in some way.

well that's comforting.. being that i've owned Fords, this shouldn't be an issue then...

well i would vote for a 240 if you are used to RWD dont change and the chance's of you leaving it stock are slim to non LOL they are loads of fun and the list of mods can go on forever but try and buy one that is stock and from a older person that you know didnt beat on it try not to buy sombody's project "there getting rid of it for a reason LOL" the posibilty's are endless!

Having owned nothing but nissans, but my friend owns a Ford Dealer,......you will be fine I never had a problom with any of my 240's or 300Z's especially when compared to Ford's. Most of the people that talk about problems in their nissans are driving cars that are 15 yrs old or more. I owned 2 95 240's and an 89 coupe as well as an 85 Z. The worst thing I had happen to me was an electrical gremlin in the 89 crap....I mean coupe.

The 240 will be easier to do work on by the way.
