most japan market coilovers are 8/6 at the highest, never heard of any japan coils that high for s chassis.
its totally unnecessary to run that high of rates.

+1, they normally come with 8/6, and some are starting to come with a second set of springs, that you can swap in yourself. Not that you really need that high of spring rate anyway.

also, just for comparison, the last season enjuku cars were running i believe 5/4 spring rates. it is way more important how the damping is, and how matched spring rate, and damper rate are.
just finding the stiffest spring you can is really crappy car setup.

+1, I would get a decent set of coils, and a really nice set of sway bars.

higher spring rates to compensate for lack of proper set up is just lame.
and who cares what mike has on his wagon?
last time i checked that isnt a nissan.

Mikes wagon is obviously going to take a different spring rate.

People put 18/16 setups on SC300's, but that doesn't mean it would go good on a S13.

Yeah, if you don't get those I probably will. The guy has been talking to me too. I realized it was you though, that was trying to buy them first so I told him I'd have to wait. I was hoping that he wouldn't try to raise the price on you or try to pit us against each other for price. They are stiff, but they would be perfect for me.....

so, why don't you want a stiffer spring rate?
I mean 8/6 doesn't seem all that tight to me....
for a daily driven car, yeah, I wouldn't suggest much more than 8/6 but if it is a purpose built car, why would something like 12/10 not be a good thing?
