I'm at a loss why people do it. If you're going to cut and weld anyways why not weld up a tubular plenum to the runners and get rid of that crap? Then you could have much better flow and use any larger throttle body you want.

But I guess it is quick and easy, which is how most z31 owners roll... haha

Also cheaper and easier, since you the stock emissions and idle control devices still work, and all the connectors reach

But honestly who uses that stuff? The car generally runs better without it, and the ECU doesn't care.

Price should be around the same, depending on your fabricator's skill/price.
