I never had a problem with my tranny ever. I guess I was just lucky and it was always full of redline tranny fluid

JWT are good if you are running bigger Maf and injectors but I would still do tuning on top if it too.

EMS FTW!

i cant stand jwt tunes.. they run like 11.0 to 10.5 afrs.. not cool.. i want my afrs like 11.5-12.0 under boost.. not to mention he backs the timing back so far.. and no hes on the stock t25 but hes the kinda guy who doesnt care what people tell him when hes told its pushing only hot air he doesnt care if the motor blow i dont think.. anyways back on topic.. beef up that tranny.. my friend has been through 2 trannys before he got the boost controller and stuff

Transmission fluid has nothing to do with the strength of it's internal components. What transmission are you using? FWD SR20DE transmissions have a weak input shaft bearing and gearset. I won't say there aren't a few lucky people that don't have problems, but this is mechanical knowledge. A heavy duty clutch, such as a puck setup, will also add to the problem. If you are going to make big power the input shaft bearing needs to be "beefed" and the gearset must be cryo-treated, or else boom...no 3rd gear.

To fix the tranny problem guys have been swaping in B15 and p11 trannys which are much stronger then the b13, b14 and p10 trannys. There are a few guys that are even putting in spec v 6-speed trannys which are even stronger.

There are a few tricks to help the b13, b14 and p10 trannys. Solid motor mounts, doing a front dog bone mount and also renforcing the shifter bracket.

JAY SAYS that tranny fluid is a problem, there are fluids that ruin certain parts in the tranny if you don't use the proper fluid. i'[ll be back with the facts later.

If you talking about Jay Whitely, he knows my car. I was using my original tranny from the car, with a clutchmasters stage 3 and 4 clutch and solid motor mounts. I made a little over 300whp. I did this for 4 -5 years until I sold my car. I understand that the trannies have week 3rd gears. I know I was one of the lucky ones and had a blessed tranny.

You can get cam gears for a FWD SR from a company called custom steel for like 130shipped. If you want to play with your power band that is what you play with to do that. Top end power is not what is notice to much with cam gears. But on the other hand if you don't know what you are doing with them you shouldn't mess with them because it is easy for you to bend valves .
