Tein Basics without Spring Perches - G35
has anyone taken the perches out on their basics?
my new replacement springs have finally come in after the orginals being stolen while at a shop. so i have been thinkin about just putting the spings in by themselves. when i had the basic rears in there was about a 1/2 to 1 finger gap in the rear. i currently have tanabe df210's in the rear and they are tuckin tire a little.

the purches are about 2" tall from where the spring mounts to the top of the perch. so that would put the car almost all the way down close to the rim.

if put the bottom rubber boot then in the picture of the wheel the car would raise up about a 1/2". shown above
what do you guys think? has anyone taken the perches out and have a pic of it?
as of right now my axels are at a pretty good angle. not sure how much more they can take. what about raising the diff? anyone done that yet? maybe get some spacers made for it, to lessen the angle?

Are you talking about spring isolators with grooves for the springs to sit in? If this car is anything like the cars I've dealt with, if you remove the spring isolators it will be metal to metal and you'll have all sorts of clunking, popping spring noises over bumps and whatnot.
every bump will equal a clunk! Jordan Y. said it. plus if you leave it like that long enough, it will score all your suspension up, and the spring may move off the strut and damage other stuff. leave them on.

ok, how many perches are on the set up dan? do you have 2 on the bottom that tighten together? if so, do like the honda guys and run one lower perch that will keep the spring compressed so it doesnt clunk and it also lowers the car another 1.5 inch or so. by the way the head gasket is dead.
there is only one perch
heres how it goes top down
top rubber bump stop
spring perch
spring
bottom rubber mount.
there is no bottom rubber mount and i had to buy new ones because the idiots at a certain shop didnt put it back in and they were most likely "stolen" with the springs. thankfully though i was able to get my perches back.
the springs are only a 90mm spring so they are rather short. guess ill have to try it several ways and see which way i like the best.
